Booksish Discussions

Books I Find Intimidating

Is there any books on your shelves that you’re putting off reading because they’re just so intimidating? Some because of their size, some because you’re not ready for the distress you will go through reading about your favourite characters suffering. Or because you’re afraid that they won’t live up to the hype. So many reasons to be put off from reading books you actually really want to read!

So I thought I would share a few that I really do need to read soon, hopefully sharing it on here will help…maybe…

So anyways here are some books that intimidate me:

1 Lord of the Rings – I absolutely adore the films and I’m worried they won’t be as good or I won’t enjoy it as much as I just don’t want to be disappointed.

2 Iron Gold – I suffered while reading the Red Rising trilogy and this book is massive so there is plenty of time for me to suffer and I’m just not ready. It also does not help that the book is so heavy and I have no idea how I can hold it to read.

3 The Book of Dust – Another book that I want to read but also I’m worried that I won’t enjoy it as much as the original trilogy

4 Priory of the Orange Tree – I did actually start reading but I got quite confused as there was a lot of information but the story was really interesting so I do want to continue reading this!

5 A Reaper at the Gates – Look I just need to know when the last book will be published because I already died waiting for this book and I can’t go through that pain again

So here is some books I’ve been putting off reading! Let me know if there’s any books you’ve been putting off reading!

Friday Favourites – Classic Books

This is hosted by Something of the Book who created this tag out of a love for lists. There are different topics for us all to be able to take part and you can find the prompts here. There isn’t a specific number of favourites so it’s entirely up to you how many you share. You can share your most or least favourites too!

This week are classics that I read years ago and absolutely loved but haven’t read them since. So these are books that I want to reread this year!

1 Black Beauty – I first read this book when I was 10 years old and fell in love! I reread this book at least 5 more times that year but I haven’t read it in so many years and I really want to read it again

2 The Secret Garden – another book I loved as a kid but haven’t read since and really would love to read it again

3 Little Women – I watched the recent three part tv show and fell in love all over again and now I really want to reread the book

4 The Lion the Witch and the Wardrobe – this is my favourite book in the series but I haven’t read it in years

5 Pride and Prejudice – this is the only book I have actually reread a couple years ago but with the retellings being published I really want to read it again

So here are some of my favourite classics I want to reread!
Do you like reading classics? Which are your favourites?
