Friday Favourites

Friday Favourites – Classic Books

This is hosted by Something of the Book who created this tag out of a love for lists. There are different topics for us all to be able to take part and you can find the prompts here. There isn’t a specific number of favourites so it’s entirely up to you how many you share. You can share your most or least favourites too!

This week are classics that I read years ago and absolutely loved but haven’t read them since. So these are books that I want to reread this year!

1 Black Beauty – I first read this book when I was 10 years old and fell in love! I reread this book at least 5 more times that year but I haven’t read it in so many years and I really want to read it again

2 The Secret Garden – another book I loved as a kid but haven’t read since and really would love to read it again

3 Little Women – I watched the recent three part tv show and fell in love all over again and now I really want to reread the book

4 The Lion the Witch and the Wardrobe – this is my favourite book in the series but I haven’t read it in years

5 Pride and Prejudice – this is the only book I have actually reread a couple years ago but with the retellings being published I really want to read it again

So here are some of my favourite classics I want to reread!
Do you like reading classics? Which are your favourites?

Friday Favourites

Friday Favourites – Diverse Books

This is hosted by Something of the Book who created this tag out of a love for lists. There are different topics for us all to be able to take part and you can find the prompts here.  There isn’t a specific number of favourites so it’s entirely up to you how many you share. You can share your most or least favourites too!

This week I’m going to share diverse books I want to read soon. I love that more diverse books are being released and by diverse authors and I hope that they continue to be released because I can finally see myself in books and I know lots of people feel the same.

So these are books I’m hoping to read soon:

1 We Hunt the Flame by Hafsah Faizal – I absolutely cannot wait to read this book! I have been eagerly awaiting for it to release ever since I heard about it last year.

2 On the Come Up by Angie Thomas – I adored The Hate U Give so I really want to read this too. I have been meaning to read it since it released.

3 The Descendant of the Crane by Joan He – another book that I have been excited about for a very long time! I got it in a recent Illumicrate box so I’m hoping to get to it soon!

4 The Candle and the Flame by Nafiza Azad – as soon as I saw the cover I fell in love and then I heard it has a Muslim main character and jinns and I knew I had to read this!

5 Pride by Ibi Zoboi – a pride and prejudice retelling and as I adore this classic I need to read all retellings! This one sounds so good!

6 Empire of Sand by Tasha Suri – a Mughal inspired world so of course I had to add it to my tbr!

7 Love from A to Z by S.K. Ali – a Muslim love story? Sign me up!

8 Aru Shah and the End of Time by Roshani Chokshi – this is inspired by Hindu mythology and sounds so interesting!

9 Empress of all Seasons by Emiko Jean – Another book I received in book box and have heard great things about so I am looking forward to read it!

10 A Thousand Beginnings and Endings edited by Ellen Oh & Elsie Chapman – this is an anthology with short stories and written completely by diverse authors which of course I need to read!

So these are some of the diverse books I really want to read soon!

What diverse books are on your tbr? Or what diverse books have you read recently and loved?
