What My Favourite Characters Would Do In Quarantine – Book Tag

I saw this tag on The Caffeinated Reader and I knew I had to do this tag as it looked so fun!

Rules
Take 5 or more of your favourite book characters and imagine what they would be doing if they were quarantined with us in the real world.
You can have them be in their own squad if you want or working on their own.

So here are my favourite characters and what I think they would do in quarantine!

1 Nahri and Ali from The City of Brass – They would grab as many books as they could from the library and spend the time discussing and debating with each other and maybe Nahri will finally teach Ali how to pick a lock!

2 Laia and Elias from An Ember in the Ashes – Laia would be trying to figure out how to help those who are affected and Elias would be trying to work out how to distribute whatever Laia comes up with to help the people. They would also probably end up stealing the antidote from the Empire to help Laia’s people who will definitely be denied access to it.

3 Cinder and Kai from The Lunar Chronicles – Cinder would be working with the scientists on Lunar to come up with an antidote and Kai would be busy trying to keep New Beijing from collapsing into chaos and they would video call each other to talk and destress after their stressful days.

4 Samirah and Alex from the Magnus Chase trilogy – Samirah would use it to catch up on school and do extra work and Alex would spend her days alternating between Netflix and annoying Samirah.

5 Zainab and Adam from Love From A to Z – Adam would be one of the people at higher risk so he would need to stay home and stay safe so Zainab would do things involving needing to go outside and they would spend their time at home relaxing and obviously journaling. Adam would spend some time on his art and Zainab would video call her friends to catch up with them.

So here are my favourite characters in quarantine!

Who Would You Fancast As Your Favourite Book Characters?

With the recent cast announcement for the Shadow and Bone Netflix show it had me thinking about who I would cast for my favourite characters from some other books.

But first I need to fangirl about the fact that BEN BARNES WILL BE THE DARKLING. Look I really don’t know how anyone expects me to root for Alina, Mal and Nikolai when the Darkling is Ben Barnes. I’m sorry it’s just not possible.

Team Darkling all the way.

And I will hear some of my favourite Darkling lines and Ben Barnes will be the one saying it! I. AM. DECEASED.

Also I am ready for all the Ben Barnes as the Darkling fanart. Send them all to me!

I apologise in advance to anyone who follows me on my social media because this is all I will be talking about on there. Especially as Ben is 38 so I can cry over him all I want without it being all creepy.

ANYWAYS back to why I started writing this post! Here are some of my fancasts:

1 Ranveer Singh as Muntadhir from The City of Brass – Look he is the only person I will accept as Muntadhir and there is nothing you can do to change my mind.

2 Mena Massoud as Jamshid from The City of Brass – He has the cuteness down in exactly the way that I would imagine from Jamshid and I think he would be great playing Jamshid.

3 Margot Robbie as Aelin from Throne of Glass – I think she could pull of Aelin’s confidence and sass and look amazing being a badass assassin!

4 Cengiz Coskun as Cassian from ACOTAR – Look you need to watch him be his badass self in Ertugul and then also be head over heels over his fiancé. He also rocks a man bun and I can seriously see him being a great Cassian.

5 Keke Palmer as Winter from The Lunar Chronicles – I think she could be really great as Winter

6 Matthew Daddario as Azriel from ACOTAR – Look there is no way anyone else can be Azriel in my mind.

7 Lana Condor as Linh Cinder from The Lunar Chronicles – I think she could make a great Cinder especially with her short hair cut!

8 Saoirse Ronan as Victra from Red Rising – Victra is a badass and I think she could portray her really well

9 Zoha Rahman as Samirah from Magnus Chase – She has already portrayed a hijabi in Spider Man and I would love to see her as feisty Samirah!

10 Deepika Padukone as Laia from An Ember in the Ashes – In my head Laia looks really similar to Deepika so I think she would make a great Laia!

11 Aishwarya Rai as Nahri from The City of Brass – I think she would do such a great job as Nahri!

Top 5 Wednesdays – Books For My Younger Self

So this weeks topic is books for my younger self. So I chose books that I wish had been around when I was younger.

1 Are we all Lemmings and Snowflakes? By Holly Bourne – I recently read this book and I loved the mental health rep and I wish there had been books like this when I was a teenager to help me understand

2 Wonder by R.J. Palacio – I adore this book and the message it shares and I wish more people would read this book especially kids

3 Amal Unbound by Aisha Saeed – this book shows how difficult it can be for some girls to get an education and it made me realise how much I took for granted growing up

4 Jinxed by Amy McCulloch – the main character in this book is science nerd and proud and I am so happy to see these kind of books especially for teens

5 Magnus Chase and the Sword of Summer by Rick Riordan – one of the main characters is a Muslim hijab wearing girl who is not only unapologetically Muslim but also a kickass Valkarie. I wish I had characters who I could relate to like this growing up
