Books I Want From The Villains Point Of View

I used to always root for the heroes when I read books but these YA books that I’ve been reading lately have me wanting to know more about the villains or straight up just rooting for them!

So I thought I would write about it on here as I would love to know all of your views!

Villains are being written in more complex and intriguing ways that makes me so interested in learning about them. And we’ve been getting some really great origin stories for fairy tale villains too! So it’s made me want to see how these villains and how they became who we see in the books!

So here are some villains I would love a point of view from:

The Darkling from the Grisha Trilogy by Leigh Bardugo

It’s no secret that I am completely and entirely in love with the Darkling. I mean you know aside from him being a mass murderer. Anyways I just want more Darkling okay?! I want to know his story from when he was a little boy to all those years he lived growing more and powerful and how he became the man that we met in Shadow and Bone. He deserves his own book!

Sebastian Morganstern from TMI by Cassandra Clare

Look he had no chance in life. His dad completely screwed him over and from before he was even born. Yet he was still a really interesting villain and I want to know what it was like for him growing up isolated and alone.

Luke Castellen from Percy Jackson and the Olympians by Rick Riordan

I mean yes, he did make some really bad decisions which led to people dying but I still couldn’t help but feel for him. He has such a tragic story and in the end he ended up saving everyone. So I would love to read more about his life before he met Percy and how he ended up the boy we meet. I would also love to see the series from his point of view.

Bellatrix LeStrange from Harry Potter by JK Rowling

She is terrifying but I still love her! She is such an interesting character and I think it would be so interesting to see things from her point of view. Especially as we would be able to see a lot more of the death eaters and how they functioned.

The Jackal from Red Rising by Pierce Brown

Another villain who was so interesting to read about. Especially as he was the twin of one of the heroines. How did they become so different? I just want to know more about him. It would especially be interesting to read red rising from his point of view.

The Commandant from An Ember in the Ashes by Sabaa Tahir

She is absolutely terrifying and I still cannot get over how much she hated her own son. But I do want to know more about her. I want to know who Elias’s father is, I want to know how she became so terrifying and I would love to see more about her and Laia’s mother.

So here are the villains I would love to see a point of view from or even their own book!

What villains would you love to see a point of view from?

My Magical Readathon TBR

I decided to take part in the Magical Readathon which is hosted by Book Roast and you can check out her video where she explains everything here. It will also have all the pdfs for you to decide what you will be reading.

So the magical readathon is based around Harry Potter and being a huge HP fan I just had to take part! In April we will be taking our O.W.L.S based on our chosen careers. And then in August we will be taking our N.E.W.T.S!

So this readathon starts April 1st and runs for the whole month.

After much deliberation I decided on my career and to pursue being a Healer! Seeing as I work in healthcare I thought it was the closest to what I would actually like to do! Yes, I am very serious about choosing my magical career lol

So the O.W.L.S I need to take and what I will be reading:

Herbology (Plant on the cover) – The Gilded Wolves by Roshani Chokshi
Charms (Read an adult work) – The Dark Vault by V.E. Schwab
Defence Against The Dark Arts (Title starts with R) – Renegades by Marissa Meyer
Potions (Sequel) – The Extinction Trials Rebel by S.M. Wilson
Transfiguration (Sprayed edges/red cover) – We Are Blood and Thunder by Kesia Lupo

3 other subjects of your choice:

Ancient Runes (Retelling) – Stepsister by Jennifer Donnelly
Care of Magical Creatures (Land animal on cover) – The Devils Thief by Lisa Maxwell
Divination (Set in the future) – This Splintered Silence by Kayla Olsen

So these are the books I will be reading. Hopefully I will get through all of them!

Will you be taking part? What career did you pick?

Top 5 Wednesdays

Top 5 Wednesdays – Nostalgic Ships

Hey booknerds! It’s another Top 5 Wednesday post! This is hosted by Sam over on Thoughts on Tomes where you share you top 5 for the chosen topic for that week. You can check out each weeks topic over on Goodreads.

This weeks topic is nostalgic ships. Couples that you loved when you were younger.

Okay so a lot of my ships will be from films as most of the books I read when I was younger didn’t really have ships. But these are my favourites because I was totally rooting for them and found them adorable!

1 Ron and Hermione – Romione forever! I have loved these two since I first read about them and loved seeing their relationship develop throughout the books!

2 Anastasia and Dimitri – this was one of my favourite childhood films and these two are just amazing! Anastasia is sassy and fierce and I love how Dimitri develops throughout the film.

3 Elizabeth and Darcy – Pride and Prejudice is my absolute favourite classic and I adore these two! From the socially awkward Darcy to outspoken and confident Lizzie.

4 Lyra Belaqua and Will Parry – I loved these two in the His Dark Materials trilogy and how much they sacrificed, even having to spend their lives separately for the greater good.

5 Thomas O’Malley and Duchess – I know, I know, they’re cats but common! Artistocats is one of my favourite Disney films. You have love how much effort Thomas goes into impressing Duchess and how well he looks after her kids.

So these were my favourite ships when I was younger!

Do comment and tell me which couples you loved when you were younger!

If you had a fictional job, what would it be? And why?

I would love to work in the Hogwarts library or any magical library! I mean it would be so cool to have access to all the books!

Nifflers love beautiful shiny things. What book did you buy because it had a beautiful cover?

So many! Circe is probably one of the most beautiful books I own, even the naked cover is stunning!

Credence – Name a favourite character who is a tortured soul

Kaz Brekker! He is THE tortured soul. He just needs a hug he deserves some love.

Bowtruckles are one of Newt’s smallest creatures. What is the smallest book on your tbr list?

Hmm probably The Hobbit. The version I own makes the book seem really short and a quick read but I just haven’t gotten to it yet.

Graves – Name a character who turned out to not be who they seemed.

One of many is Raidan from Smoke in the Sun. I was really not expecting his character story to go the way it did. I was pleasantly surprised.

Erumpents are one of Newt’s largest creatures. What’s the largest book on your tbr?

The Mistborn books! They are huge! I read the first one and loved it but I still find them very intimidating.

Queenie – Which fictional character would you like to get inside the mind of?

Khalid from The Wrath and the Dawn. I seriously want to know what goes on in his mind.

Demiguise can see the future, unless someone does the unexpected. What book did you enjoy that was unexpected? Or name a book that turned out different to what was expected?

Most recently, Light Years. I had a completely different idea of what the book would be based on the cover. I thought I wouldn’t enjoy it but I actually loved it!

Jacob – what piece of food that you’ve read about, would you like to try in real life?

Anything Mrs. Weasleys cooks! Or something from Honeydukes. I always wanted to eat most things in the Harry Potter books!

Obscurials are feared in the wizarding world. What is the scariest book you’ve read?

I don’t tend to read scary books but The Loneliest Girl in the Universe is not a book to read at night.

Tina – Name a character who grows on you or you feel redeems themselves.

Tessa Gray from The Infernal Devices is someone I didn’t initially like but I did really grow to like her.

Swooping Evil – Which book would you like the reread for the first time if you could?

Six of Crows! I absolutely love this book and I really wish I could read it again for the first time. To read all the plot twists for the first time and just experience it all again.

Grindelwald – Name a character you grew to hate.

Rhysand. I know, I know, unpopular opinion but I did love him initially but by acofas I am so done with him and Feyre.

No Maj – Name a contemporary book that you think everybody should read.

I don’t read many contemporary books but one I really loved recently was Are We All Lemmings And Snowflakes? It has great mental health rep! I also recommend The Hate U Give, Moxie and Ayesha at Last. I loved all of them!
