Character Crossovers

Have you ever wondered what characters would do well in a different world? Would they thrive? Would they fit in with those group of characters? What if we swapped two characters from different books?

Well as I was thinking about this I actually realised that I think several characters would survive pretty well if they were swapped. So of course I had to write a blog post about it!
So here are some characters that I think would do well if they were swapped into each other’s stories!

1 Kaz Brekker from Six of Crows and Artemis Fowl from the Artemis Fowl series – Look I firmly believe that Artemis is a younger version of Kaz so obviously they would be able to swap quite well into each other’s lives. Imagine the havoc Kaz could wreak with Artemis’ fortune!

2 Inej Ghafa from Six of Crows and Zafira Iskander from We Hunt the Flame – Both badass women who are deadly with weapons and have questionable taste in men. I mean they could easily be deadly sisters, wow, just imagine if they fought alongside each other. They would be lethal!

3 Cress from The Lunar Chronicles and Kady Grant from Illuminae – Both super smart computer geeks who have to work under exceptional circumstances.

4 Darrow from Red Rising and Alizayd Al-Qahtani from The City of Brass – Both of them fight for injustices happening to their people and both have a knack for being reckless. They are both lethal with weapons and all I’m saying is that if they became allies they would make a pretty deadly team.

5 Elias from An Ember in the Ashes and Okami from Flame in the Mist – They have both reluctantly been made into something they don’t want. Yet they still retain their humanity and battle daily with their violent side.

So here is my character crossovers! Let me know what you think and who you think would do well in each other’s stories!

Friday Favourites – Movie or TV Adaptations

This is hosted by Something of the Book who created this tag out of a love for lists. There are different topics for us all to be able to take part and you can find the prompts here.

There isn’t a specific number of favourites so it’s entirely up to you how many you share. You can share your most or least favourites too!

For this post I thought I would share books that I would love to see being made into a film or tv show and ones that I am looking forward to seeing that are already being made!

I am always nervous about seeing my favourite shows be adapted as it can go really well or horribly wrong! But if I didn’t need to worry about that then these are the ones I would love to see!

1 Red Rising – Can we please make this into a tv show already?! It could be so epic!

2 The City of Brass – As long as they cast Alizayd properly I would fangirl so hard if this was made into a tv show. PoC and Muslim characters in a fantasy world, on tv? It would be amazing!

3 Ayesha at Last – Pride and Prejudice with Muslim characters that I already need to see made into a film. I need all the witty banter and the second hand embarrassment!

4 This Savage Song – I adore this duology and it would be pretty cool to see this as a film or tv show

5 Illuminae – Another book that would make an epic show!

6 Percy Jackson – Lets just pretend that the films don’t exist and make a great tv show from these books instead.

These adaptations are already being produced and I am hoping that they do the books justice!

1 His Dark Materials – The film was…not great…but I have high hopes for the show being produced!

2 Grishaverse – I am hoping that as Leigh Bardugo herself is part of the team that this amazing universe will be treated with the justice it deserves!

3 Artemis Fowl – Disney have made this into a film and I’m quite nervous about it as just from the trailers I can see they’ve changed things. I just hope it’s a good film.

So there you have it! What books would you want made into tv shows or films?

Top 5 Wednesdays

Top 5 Wednesdays – Favourite Jokesters

Hey booknerds! It’s another Top 5 Wednesday post! This is hosted by Sam over on Thoughts on Tomes where you share you top 5 for the chosen topic for that week. You can check out each weeks topic over on Goodreads.

I don’t tend to read many funny books, I’m more of a, the book has killed me kinda girl, but some books do have great characters who are sassy and sarcastic and have great banter. That’s my kind of funny!

So these are the characters that put a smile on my face:

1 Jesper from Six of Crows – there is some amazing banter between the characters in this duology! Jesper and Nina are some of my favourites when it comes to being funny in these books!

2 Thorne from The Lunar Chronicles – he is sassy and sarcastic and his banter with Cinder is the absolute best!

3 Nik from The Illuminae Files – I adore Nik and I feel he’s so underappreciated! He has great banter both with Hanna and Ezra!

4 Sevro from Red Rising – his sarcasm is the best! Even this trilogy is brutal I loved how Sevro would make things light hearted

5 Lubayd from The Kingdom of Copper – Alizayd’s friend and someone who is always cracking jokes and everyone who meets him, loves! His witty remarks about Alizayd would have me cackling!

So these are my favourite jokesters! Who are your favourite funny or witty characters?

Friday Favourites – Fictional Criminals

I recently came across this weekly tag that looked like a lot of fun and thought I would try to take part!

This is hosted by Something of the Book who created this tag out of a love for lists. There are different topics for us all to be able to take part and you can find the prompts here.

There isn’t a specific number of favourites so it’s entirely up to you how many you share. You can share your most or least favourites too!

This weeks topic is fictional criminals and when I saw it I knew I had to take part because they are often some of my favourite characters!

1 Kaz Brekker from Six of Crows– I absolutely adore Kaz and the rest of the Dregs and I really hope we get to see more of them!

2 Artemis Fowl from the Artemis Fowl series – Probably the first criminal protagonist I read about and one that reminds me of a younger Kaz! This is the book that got me into morally grey characters!

3 Carswell Thorne from The Lunar Chronicles – He is sassy and sarcastic and charming. Which is probably why he was such a great con man but his character development is one of my fave!

4 Nik Malikov from the Illuminae Files – he deserves so much more love! Plus I love his banter with Ezra!

5 Nahri from The City of Brass – my favourite con woman! I mean the first line we read from her point of view is, “he was an easy mark”

6 Esta from The Last Magician – not only is she a thief but she’s a magician who can time travel so she is actually a time travelling thief!

7 Victor Vale from Vicious – I adored him in Vicious and how he will go to any length to achieve his goals, his rivalry with Eli kept me on the edge of my seat throughout the book!

So these are my favourite criminals and some of my all time fave characters!
Who are your favourite criminal charaters?
