What My Favourite Characters Would Do In Quarantine – Book Tag

I saw this tag on The Caffeinated Reader and I knew I had to do this tag as it looked so fun!

Rules
Take 5 or more of your favourite book characters and imagine what they would be doing if they were quarantined with us in the real world.
You can have them be in their own squad if you want or working on their own.
Tag 5 friends.
Link back to this post and credit Reader Voracious.

So here are my favourite characters and what I think they would do in quarantine!

1 Nahri and Ali from The City of Brass – They would grab as many books as they could from the library and spend the time discussing and debating with each other and maybe Nahri will finally teach Ali how to pick a lock!

2 Laia and Elias from An Ember in the Ashes – Laia would be trying to figure out how to help those who are affected and Elias would be trying to work out how to distribute whatever Laia comes up with to help the people. They would also probably end up stealing the antidote from the Empire to help Laia’s people who will definitely be denied access to it.

3 Cinder and Kai from The Lunar Chronicles – Cinder would be working with the scientists on Lunar to come up with an antidote and Kai would be busy trying to keep New Beijing from collapsing into chaos and they would video call each other to talk and destress after their stressful days.

4 Samirah and Alex from the Magnus Chase trilogy – Samirah would use it to catch up on school and do extra work and Alex would spend her days alternating between Netflix and annoying Samirah.

5 Zainab and Adam from Love From A to Z – Adam would be one of the people at higher risk so he would need to stay home and stay safe so Zainab would do things involving needing to go outside and they would spend their time at home relaxing and obviously journaling. Adam would spend some time on his art and Zainab would video call her friends to catch up with them.

So here are my favourite characters in quarantine!

Everyone is welcome to do the tag! If you do the tag do share with me I would love to read it!

Book Tag

Of Curses and Kisses Book Tag

I have completely fallen in love with this book and so when I saw that Scorpio Book Dreams had created a book tag inspired by the book I could not resist doing the tag!

Before I do the tag here is what the book is about:

Will the princess save the beast?
For Princess Jaya Rao, nothing is more important than family. When the loathsome Emerson clan steps up their centuries-old feud to target Jaya’s little sister, nothing will keep Jaya from exacting her revenge. Then Jaya finds out she’ll be attending the same elite boarding school as Grey Emerson, and it feels like the opportunity of a lifetime. She knows what she must do: Make Grey fall in love with her and break his heart. But much to Jaya’s annoyance, Grey’s brooding demeanor and lupine blue eyes have drawn her in. There’s simply no way she and her sworn enemy could find their fairy-tale ending…right?
His Lordship Grey Emerson is a misanthrope. Thanks to an ancient curse by a Rao matriarch, Grey knows he’s doomed once he turns eighteen. Sequestered away in the mountains at St. Rosetta’s International Academy, he’s lived an isolated existence—until Jaya Rao bursts into his life, but he can’t shake the feeling that she’s hiding something. Something that might just have to do with the rose-shaped ruby pendant around her neck…
As the stars conspire to keep them apart, Jaya and Grey grapple with questions of love, loyalty, and whether it’s possible to write your own happy ending.

The tag was originally created by Scorpio Book Dreams and you can find her post here

So lets get on with the tag:

Jaya – Favourite fictional bookworm
I mean did you really expect me to pick anyone except my Prince Alizayd al-Qahtani from The City of Brass by S.A. Chakraborty?! My favourite nerd who will literally talk all day about all things history and economics and everything else in between!

6DF85EB4-AD11-4D79-99EE-10E458935B45

Grey – Favourite brooding character
Nasir from We Hunt the Flame by Hafsah Faizal takes brooding to a whole new level!

80B66BFB-F35D-41E3-BBE5-3384DDCC816B

St. Rosetta’s Academy – Favourite fictional school
Blackcliff Academy in An Ember in the Ashes by Sabaa Tahir is technically a school, albeit one that trains kids to be ruthless assassins.

IMG_3381

Jaya & Isha – Favourite fictional siblings
Rishi and Aashish from When Dimple Met Rishi by Sandhya Menon have a really interesting relationship and loved seeing how much they grow together in this book.

IMG_6126

Romance & Revenge – Book that features both themes
The Gilded Wolves by Roshani Chokshi has both and both themes are done SO WELL. My god I cannot wait to have the next book in my hands!

IMG_5106

Rose pendant – Book featuring a touch of magic
A Pocketful of Stars by Aisha Bushby weaves just that little bit of magic into the life of the MC to help her deal with the things that is happening in her life.

IMG_8703

Rao & Emerson families – Book that deals with the pressure of family expectations
One of the main themes that runs throughout The City of Brass by S.A Chakraborty is how the youth have to live up to their family expectations even though it isn’t what they want and how they have to deal with that when they realise that they actually don’t agree with their parents.

AFE38C57-AF0C-46F7-A60B-7A386EB88E45

Leo, Rahul & Daphne Elizabeth – A book featuring a supportive friendship group
All the Things we Never Said by Yasmin Rahman deals with some really difficult but one of the themes that is woven into the story which plays an important role is friendship. It was really great seeing some really wonderful and complex female friendships.

2167403F-DAD7-436F-8E96-A58D35D4DA86

Enemies to lovers – favourite book featuring this trope
I loved how The Tiger at Midnight by Swati Teerdhala used this trope and watching them go from enemies to lovers was *chefs kisses* it was done so well!

E8DE3323-B6A6-44F6-A703-FE2C196E16EE

Caterina – A character that seem an ice queen/king but is actually a cinnamon roll
Ari from The Light at the Bottom of the World by London Shah is really broody and angsty but we later realise he is actually a cinnamon roll!

Spellhacker Book Tag

Hey booknerds! I have a really fun post for you all today! I created a book tag for Spellhacker by M.K. England! I read The Disasters earlier this year and fell in love and I was so excited to get an ARC of Spellhacker and after reading it I just knew I had to make a book tag!

If you don’t know what Spellhacker is about then here is the synopsis:

In Kyrkarta, magic—known as maz—was once a freely available natural resource. Then an earthquake released a magical plague, killing thousands and opening the door for a greedy corporation to make maz a commodity that’s tightly controlled—and, of course, outrageously expensive.
Which is why Diz and her three best friends run a highly lucrative, highly illegal maz siphoning gig on the side. Their next job is supposed to be their last heist ever.
But when their plan turns up a powerful new strain of maz that (literally) blows up in their faces, they’re driven to unravel a conspiracy at the very center of the spellplague—and possibly save the world.

Spellhacker releases 21st January so make sure you preorder! Also check out my post about preorder goodies you can get here

So back to the book tag! Please link back to my post and tag others to join in!

Maz is the magic system in the group and similar to a natural resource that earth produces. What books have a unique magic system?

I love the magic system in Kingdom of Souls! It was interesting and unique!

Diz is a tech genius and is able to hack just about anything! Which characters are your favourite hackers?

The first character that comes to mind is Cress from The Lunar Chronicles! I think she would get along with Diz

Ania is the princess of the group, but she is always ready to fight anyone who tries to hurt someone she loves. Who are your favourite rebellious princess characters?

Harper from A Curse so Dark and Lonely is technically a princess and is as rebellious as they come! I love her!

Davon is Diz’s older cousin who she regards as a brother and her family. What books have great found families?

The Percy Jackson books have an amazing found family! I love them all so much!

Remi is smart and a genius in manipulating maz and a total fangirl! Who are your favourite smart, nerdy characters?

Could I say anyone aside from Alizayd Al-Qahtani?! A complete nerd and total fanboy who will talk everyone’s ear off!

Jaesin is the dad friend and will fight everyone to protect those he loves (and always wins). What characters do you think would always win in a fight?

Elias Veturius would always win, I think. He has spent his whole life being trained to be a deadly weapon after all.

This book centres around Diz and her friends deciding to do one last heist before they all go their own ways. What books have great heists in the story?

I love The Last Magician! It’s a heist through time!

So that’s the book tag! I hope you all enjoy taking part! Everyone is welcome to do this, whether it’s on your blog or Instagram. You can tag me on Instagram my handle is @thetsundokuchronicles
