Monthly Wrap Up

December Monthly Wrap Up

The last month flew by! It’s crazy that a new year has already started! I have had a really busy month with getting orders out in time for Christmas and then my sisters were staying over during the holidays.

But here is what I read in December:

Spellhacker by M.K. England – I really enjoyed this book! It combines tech and magic and there’s a great squad of characters and there’s a heist! My review will be up in a few days!

Rating: 4/5

The Tyrants Tomb by Rick Riordan – This series is getting better with each book and darker and I love it! I really loved how he dealt with death and grief in a way that even young people can understand and process. I cannot wait for the next book!

Rating: 4/5

The Guinivere Deception by Kierstan White – I enjoyed this book but I didn’t love it. It started off really interesting but it dragged in the middle so I wasn’t as invested in the ending as I could’ve been.

Rating: 3.5/5

Other Words for Home by Jasmine Warga – I loved this book so much! I read it in a day! It’s written in verse and is the story of a young Syrian girl who has to leave everything behind to move to America as it isn’t safe for her to live there anymore. It’s a beautiful heart wrenching story and but also filled with hope.

Rating: 5/5

Kingdom of the Blazing Pheonix by Julie C. Dao – I loved Forest of a Thousand Lanterns and this book was just as amazing! I loved the female empowerment and the group of characters and the story kept me hooked! My review will be up soon!

Rating: 4/5

Love and Happiness by Yasmin Mogahed – A reread because I love reading through this book that is filled with wisdom!

Rating: 5/5

Yes, I’m Hot in This by Huda Fahmy – This book is hilarious and relatable and I absolutely adore it! I cannot wait for her next book!

Rating: 5/5

Renegades by Marissa Meyer – I put off reading this book for ages but omg it was amazing I absolutely adored it and I cannot wait to read the next book! The discussions on who is a hero and a villain and what makes us these was so interesting! My review will be up soon!

Rating: 5/5

Rules for Vanishing by Kate Alice Marshall – This book was so spooky and creepy and even a little terrifying at times but I loved it! I don’t usually read these type of books but I’m glad I did because it was so good! My review will be up soon!

Rating: 4/5

Thorn by Intisar Khanani – A diverse retelling of the grimm story of the goose girl. It held true to the original story but also with it’s own twists and I really enjoyed it! My review will be out soon!

Rating: 4/5

Graceling by Kristen Cashore – I have been meaning to read this book for years and I am so glad I finally did! It was so good! I loved the characters and I am definitely going to read the rest of the books soon!
