Friday Favourites – Favourite Inspiring Characters

This is hosted by Something of the Book who created this tag out of a love for lists. There are different topics for us all to be able to take part and you can find the prompts here. There isn’t a specific number of favourites so it’s entirely up to you how many you share.

This week I’m going to share some characters that have been inspiring to me in different ways and I decided to share all female characters because they came to mind immediately when I started thinking about inspiring characters.

So the characters that inspire me are:

1 Inej from Six of Crows – She was in a horrible situation being kidnapped and trafficked yet she was so resilient and courageous despite her awful circumstance.

2 Nahri from The City of Brass – She is literally taken to a city that she didn’t even know existed and feels way out of her depth yet she manages to handle things quite impressively.

3 Celine from The Beautiful – She is smart and doesn’t let anyone push her around and I loved her

4 Zayneb from Love from A to Z – She is outspoken and passionate and unapologetically Muslim and I loved her so much

5 Laia from An Ember in the Ashes – She watched her grandparents get murdered, her brother taken to prison yet despite her fear she continues to fight to free her brother, even putting herself in danger

6 Mehreen from All the Things we Never Said – Living with suicidal thoughts is incredibly difficult yet she does. She battles it daily and that shows incredible strength.

7 Samirah from Magnus Chase – Another badass who I loved. She is unapologetically Muslim and I wish I was half as confident as her when I was 16

8 Hermione from Harry Potter – I wanted to be Hermione as a kid. She is smart and brave and honestly Harry and Ron would be dead without her

9 Cress from The Lunar Chronicles – She is a total fangirl with crazy smart hacking skills and despite being held captive in a satellite and living in fear she helps those that Levana is oppressing

10 Shahrzad from Rebel of the Sands – She is a badass and I would love to be able to channel it. She is also smart and loyal and wise and I really loved her and I hope we get to see more of her.
