This month has been a month, I have been incredibly busy so I have barely had time to read and I’ve been in a weird slump which hasn’t helped. I barely read this month and I am so sad!
Although there has been some amazing highlights too! I got to meet Shannon Chakraborty and I am still hyped from that! I got to speak to her about how much I adore these books and listen to her talk about the wonderful world and characters that she has created. You can read all about it here
So what did I actually read this month, not a lot to be honest but here they are!
1 The Storm Crow by Katlyn Josephson – This book started off really interesting but then I felt it started to drag and I got bored.
Rating: 2/5
2 A Pocketful of Stars by Aisha Bushby – This book was amazing! I loved it so much, it’s so heartfelt and a book I wish I had been able to read this when I was younger. Review to come.
Rating: 5/5
3 The City of Brass by S.A. Chakraborty – Yet another reread because I cannot get enough of this book and I adore it more and more on each reread. Read my review here
Rating: 5/5
4 Descendant of the Crane by Joan He – I had such high expectations for this book unfortunately I was a little disappointed
Rating: 3/5
5 Crooked Kingdom by Leigh Bardugo – This was a reread and damn this duology is perfection! I also knew that ending was coming but I was still not ready for it. Review to come.
Rating: 5/5
6 The Memory Thief by Lauren Mansy – This sounded really interesting but I just couldn’t get into it at all.
Rating: 2/5
7 The Battle by Karuna Riazi – I loved The Gauntlet so I was really looking forward to this and and I really enjoyed it! It was nice to be able to go back into the world and see a young Muslim boy as the main character. Review to come.
Rating: 4/5
Overall I’ve had a pretty mixed month regarding books I’ve read and being in a slump has not helped. Hopefully next month will be better.
I also shared my reviews for a few books I read in pervious months. You can read these here:
We Hunt the Flame by Hafsah Faizal
The Candle and the Flame by Nafiza Azad
And that’s everything for this month! Hope you all had a better reading month than me!
