Ramadan is almost here and it’s almost time for the Ramadan Readathon!
For this years readathon there is also a bingo card and there will be several posts over the course of the week sharing book recommendations for each of the prompts! So keep an eye out on the Ramadan Readathons social media page to read them all and help you choose what books to read this month!
This post covers the non-western setting prompt for the pilgrimage pillar. So here are my recommendations:
1 The Weight of our Sky by Hanna Alkaf
2 The Kite Runner by Khaled Hosseini
3 The Map of Salt and Stars by Zeyn Joukhadar
4 Amal Unbound by Aisha Saeed
5 Ayesha Dean – The Istanbul Intrigue by Melati Lum
6 A Thousand Splendid Suns by Khaled Hosseini
7 Written in the Stars by Aisha Saeed
8 Escape from Aleppo by N.H. Senzai
These books are set all over the world from Syria to Pakistan to Afghanistan. I have read most of these and loved them and the others are on my to read pile!
Are you doing this prompt for the readathon? What book have you picked?
